Performances will play PTC's Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld, "this satirical masterpiece explores a history of the world in 75 minutes that proves throughout human history, the joke has always been on us," according to PTC. The play "skewers human civilization through a hilarious blend of incisive observation and sharp commentary….[addressing] contemporary issues and phenomena, including the economic crisis, the Middle East conflict and the always controversial 'Jersey Shore' in addition to century-old dilemmas dating back to the Ancient Greeks and beyond."
Quinn, a native of Brooklyn, is best known for his role as a cast member of TV's "Saturday Night Live." After "SNL," Quinn produced "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn" and in 1994, starred in his first one-man show Sanctifying Grace Off-Broadway. It was later produced as Colin Quinn - An Irish Wake at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Most recently, Quinn was seen in the Adam Sandler comedy film "Grown Ups."
Long Story Short played at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre Oct. 22, 2010-March 5, 2011 — 21 previews and 135 regular performances.
This booking is part of PTC's annual summer comedy series, which began in 2009 with Chicago's The Second City, as well as John Leguizamo.
Long Story Short runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8 PM.
