British master of horror Clive Barker, while creating the film franchises "Hellraiser" and "Candyman," has also created several theatrical works, including Frankenstein in Love and The History of the Devil. His dark satire Crazyface will receive its West Coast premiere May 30-June 29 at the Sacred Fools Theater.
Half Mother Courage and Her Children and half Old World folklore, Crazyface traces the nomadic journey of Til Eulenspiegel (aka "Crazyface") as he and his family make their way across Europe. When Til comes in possession of a special box that contains a magical substance, however, three spies are sent out to find him, even as his long-lost brother seeks to kill him. In the course of the satric comedy, Til grows from legendary fool into a man.
Mark Schrier stars as Crazyface. Also in the cast are Lee Bradley, Joel Christian, Andy Corren, Henry Dittman, Lori Funk, David Grammer, Danielle James, Crystal Keith, Liesel Kopp, Michael Lanahan, Ahsley West Leonard, Yuri Lowenthal, David McIntyre, Lisa Anne Nicolai, Tara Platt, Jacob Sidney, Ruth Silveira, Amir Talai, John Douglas Williams and John Wuchte.
