Christie Brinkley recently stopped by The Today Show to discuss fond memories of playing Roxie Hart in Chicago—and her excitement ahead of returning to the role. Brinkley will portray the mechanic's wife-turned-merry murderess in a limited engagement April 18 through May 12.
The actor and model made her Broadway debut as the famous killer in 2011, leading to a short stint in London and headlining the national tour.
Speaking with Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, and Joel McHale, Brinkley said she’s stepping back in with only 13 days of rehearsal before she sings the blues of “Funny Honey” and the eponymous number “Roxie.” “It’s like patting my head and rubbing my tummy,” she said of the iconic Fosse rigor of the role.
Before she shines in the spotlight at the Ambassador Theatre, Brinkley will warm up her pipes with two pre-Broadway stops in Phoenix (March 29–April 2) and Las Vegas (April 10–14).
