Beginning October 15, Robert Galinsky will perform his solo work The Bench, A Homeless Love Story at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City.
Written by Galinsky and directed by actor Jay O. Sanders in his New York directorial debut, the play navigates the heartbreak of five homeless characters living in the era of the AIDS crisis of the ’80s. The production features imagery by Daphne Arthur, who previously adapted the play into a graphic novel; Deep Singh provides sound design.
Presented by two-time Golden Globe nominee Chris Noth (The Good Wife, Sex and the City) and Drama Desk, Obie, and Olivier Award winner Barry Shabaka Henley (Jitney), the play runs through December 17.
