The longtime educator plans to offer conservatory-level training through a range of classes.

Veteran children's acting coach and educator Rick Plaugher is spearheading a new training studio, which will begin accepting students this fall. The Take Choice Acting training studio will offer conservatory-level training through a wide array of classes, including small group training, one-on-one coaching, and college audition prep.

All classes are developed through a curriculum integrating breath work, movement, Linklater voice and speech training, Stanislavsky objective work, and more.

"Throughout my time working with professional children, I have been consistently surprised by the dearth of quality, rigorous, college-level training available for young performers...Take Choice Acting seeks to fill the void with a program informed by our core values of respect, bravery, curiosity, safety, diligence, and joy," says Plaugher.

The studio is currently accepting applications from performers ages 9–17 for its first workshop series beginning in October at Open Jar Studios. The weekly classes will he held Saturdays, October 7-November 4.
