Off-Broadway News Chekhov Adaptation The Gull Will Play Off-Broadway’s Barrow Group Theater

Joan Korte will star as six different characters in the solo play adapted from The Seagull.

Zachary Cohn’s The Gull, a solo adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, will make its Off-Broadway premiere March 15-16 at Barrow Group Theatre. Tom Woldt will direct the production.

Joan Korte will star as six different characters: Constantine, an unsuccessful writer, is in love with Nina. Masha, a young woman unhappy with her life, is in love with Constantine. Simon, a schoolteacher, is in love with Masha. Constantine’s mother, Arkadina, is in love with successful writer Trigorin, but so is Nina.

The Gull made its world premiere at the Des Moines Playhouse, and toured throughout the Midwest.
