Attendees can expect performances from hosts d’Amboise and Marroquín, Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, the cast of STOMP, and dancers from the Pace University Commercial Dance BFA Program.
The evening is produced by Joe Lanteri, founder and executive director of the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, in conjunction with Patricia Watt.
The awards celebrate dance and choreographic excellence—past, present, and future. Nominators consider outstanding choreography, featured dancers, and ensembles in shows on and Off-Broadway as well as outstanding choreography in film; eligible works opened pre-COVID and during the 2021-2022 season. Through education and scholarships, the awards are also committed to nurturing future generations and preserving notable dance history.
The awards will benefit The NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program. Since the inception of the foundation, $4 million has been awarded to over 400 dancers represented in 42 college dance programs in the country.
