Playbill Goes Fringe Catherine Cohen on How Her Comedy Is 'For the Girls, For the Gays'

Her newest show, Come for Me, is currently running at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the biggest arts festival in the world, with over 3,700 shows. This year, Playbill is in town for the festival, and we’re taking you with us. Follow along as we cover every single aspect of the Fringe, aka our real-life Brigadoon!

Two years ago, comedian Catherine Cohen workshopped her show Come for Me at the Edinburgh Fringe, where she had an iPad on the stage with her. This year, the comedian (whose special The Twist? She's Gorgeous can be viewed on Netflix) is back at the Fringe with the finished version of Come for Me. When asked why she keeps coming back to Scotland, she deadpans, "I'm sick in the head."

The serious answer: "You just become a superhero after doing your show every day for a month—as a comic you don't get to do a full hour every night like that." See Cohen reflect on her Fringe experience in an interview with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno in the video above.

Come for Me plays Berk's Nest through August 25. Click here for tickets. After the Fringe, Cohen will next perform in London and Austin. And her album comes out in October.
