Casting Complete for Take That Musical The Band | Playbill

International News Casting Complete for Take That Musical The Band The U.K. tour, featuring young winners of the TV reality competition Let It Shine, launches September 8.

Complete casting has been announced for the U.K. tour of the Take That musical The Band, which will premiere at the Manchester Opera House September 8, prior to an official opening September 26. The new musical about what it’s like to grow up in a boy band will tour the U.K. through July 2018.

The Band will be played by AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Yazdan Qafouri Isfahani, Curtis T. Johns, and Sario Watanabe-Soloman, who, as Five to Five, won BBC’s Let It Shine, a reality TV casting show to find performers to star in the show.

The cast will also include Rachel Lumberg, Faye Christall, Alison Fitzjohn, Emily Joyce, Jayne McKenna, and Rachelle Diedericks, the Daily Mail reports.

Presented by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers and the British pop band Take That, the musical will be directed by Kim Gavin and Jack Ryder.

For five 16-year-old friends in 1992, “the band” is everything; 25 years on, we are reunited with the group of friends, now 40-something women, as they try once more to fulfill their dream of meeting their heroes.

The show is designed by Jon Bausor and choreographed by Kim Gavin, with lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, video design by Luke Halls, and sound design by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster.
