The honors — "celebrating excellence in theatre" in Los Angeles — took place Nov. 12 at 7:30 PM at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown L.A. Broadway and television star Neil Patrick Harris hosted the evening, which featured the presentation of the Career Achievement Award to stage and screen star Annette Bening.
Can-Can and George Gershwin Alone's four wins apiece boosted the respective Pasadena and Los Angeles companies to the evening's most honors, tied with The Theatre @ Boston Court (which produced triple winner Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings and single honoree Bleed Rail).
Also among the winners were Souvenir star Judy Kaye, solo performer Dael Orlandersmith, George Gershwin Alone actor Hershey Felder, Hotel C'est L'amour star Vicki Lewis, the touring company of Jersey Boys and the new Rachel Sheinkin, Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda musical Sleeping Beauty Wakes.
