Directed by David Glenn Armstrong with music direction by Amanda Morton and casting by Geoff Josselson, the limited engagement continues through Feb. 16.

The nine-member cast features David Ayers, Christina Bianco, Tony Award winner Cady Huffman, Tony nominee Robin De Jesus, Tony nominee Megan Lawrence, Tony nominee Brad Oscar, Robb Sapp, Conrad John Schuck and Nick Wyman.

Malpractice Makes Perfect, with book, music and lyrics by Harnick, is based on Moliere’s classic comedy of manners, The Doctor in Spite of Himself. Harnick’s adaptation, according to the York, "tells the story of a woodcutter manipulated by his spiteful wife to impersonate a brilliant doctor. Called to an emergency case — a lovely young woman who feigns sickness to avoid her impending marriage — the 'doctor' prescribes a perfect remedy for an uproarious situation. Mix in a cast of eccentrics, and the comic antics build to a climactic resolution."

"It's thrilling," said James Morgan, York's producing artistic director, in an earlier statement. "A joyful new musical for which Sheldon Harnick wrote everything — he even did his own translation from Moliere's original French version! The York is always happy to fulfill its mission to develop new work from budding artists, even Pulitzer Prize winners firmly ensconced in the Theater Hall of Fame."

Director Armstrong added, "I've had the pleasure of working with Sheldon on Malpractice at the Inge Festival, CSC, and the York. His work has touched the lives of everyone working in the American musical theater, and to be alongside him again as we unleash this amazing cast on this hilarious material for Mufti audiences is exciting, indeed." Tickets are priced at $45 ($31.50 for York Members) and are available online at yorktheatre.org, by calling (212) 935-5820, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
