Maxwell Williams will direct the production that is scheduled to run Feb. 19-March 15, 2015. Hartford Stage previously presented Lopez's The Whipping Man and his music-filled work, Somewhere.

Macfarlane, who also appeared in "Smash" and the upcoming series "Killjoys," will star as a man who has withdrawn from society after a personal tragedy. The play co-stars Cash ("You're the Worst") and Lundstedt (Freaks: a legend about growing up).

Here's how the play is billed: "In Reverberation, a personal tragedy has caused Jonathan to withdraw from the world, with little social life beyond the men he meets online. When charming, flighty Claire moves into the apartment upstairs, she tries to coax him out of his shell. They forge a tenuous connection, but the past reverberates into the present, threatening what happiness they've found."

The creative team includes Andromache Chalfant (set designer), Linda Cho (costume designer), Matthew Richards (lighting designer) and Tei Blow (sound designer).
