Theatrical streaming platform Broadway on Demand has partnered with Stellar to enhance the underlying technology behind the theatrical steamer. The move will bring Stellar's more fully featured streaming capabilities to BOD to reduce costs and improve the experience for schools and theatres streaming productions via the platform, while also improving the front-end user experience.
Stellar's technology will allow BOD users to fully manage their own streams, with tools for ticketing and marketing built in. New features include live chat, custom emojis, and the ability to solicit tips and donations and sell merchandise. The partnership will result in the elimination of up-front technology fees and ticket service fees.
"As Broadway on Demand continues its rapid growth, we feel a responsibility to match that progress with robust technological underpinnings to support our climb," says Broadway Licensing (Broadway on Demand's parent company) President and CEO Sean Cercone. "Because of that, we are excited to partner with Stellar to both reduce upfront costs for our customers and improve ease of use, in our journey to make everyone in the world a theatre person."
