The seventh annual Broadway Alzheimer’s iPod Drive, inspired by the Sundance-winning documentary about the non-profit organization Music & Memory that advocates for the use of personalized music to improve the lives of those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, will return August 1–19.
Broadway performers and pit musicians are working with Alzheimer’s organization CaringKind NYC to spread the word about the Music & Memory program and to raise awareness on how to contribute.
The initiative has drawn the attention and support of Carole King and Cyndi Lauper, as well as Broadway actors Annaleigh Ashford and Jessie Mueller.
In addition to donating iPods, individuals can donate money directly to Music & Memory by clicking here. For donations, write “Broadway Alzheimer’s iPod Drive” in the “in honor of” section of the donation.
