News Brenda Edwards to Join London Company of We Will Rock You Brenda Edwards, the former X Factor finalist, will join the West End production of We Will Rock You, beginning performances June 21, to reprise the role she has previously played during the show's year-long national tour.

She joins the company for a ten-week season only, replacing Mazz Murray who is on maternity leave. In a press statement, Queen member and co-producer of the show Brian May has commented, "We're very happy that, while our wonderful Mazz Murray takes a break to have her baby, Brenda Edwards is to play Killer Queen for us in the Dominion Theatre. Brenda is irrepressible, scary, funny, and a killer singer. The lot! She delighted audiences on the WWRY tour of Britain last year. I have no doubt that she will Rock the Dominion." She has played the role of the Killer Queen — whose plan to ban live music from the planet is thwarted by a bunch of rebellious teenage dreamers – for over 300 performances on the tour. In a press statement, Edwards  commented, "I’d like to wish Mazz all the best for the birth of her first child. I’m so excited to be asked to be part of the West End production and can't wait to bring my kind of magic to the Dominion Theatre."

Edwards, who was an X Factor finalist in 205, has previously played Mama Morton in Chicago at the Adelphi and Cambridge Theatres and Pearl Pastor in Carmen Jones at the Royal Festival Hall. She has also headlined concerts at Cardiff Millennium Stadium in front of 40,000 people, and performed for three consecutive years at Rochester Castle and also for the past three years at the Barbican with Brenda's Gospel Christmas. This fall will see the release of her first single, "You Know How To Love Me."
