Dating Depression and Dirtbags: A Love Story is written and performed by Zagreda with direction by Joan Kane. Performances play the 13th Street Repertory.
The show was done this past June for a limited run at Stage Left Studios.
The show follows Zagreda's uphill journey from heartache to looking for love again in New York City, searching in all the locations least likely suited for a serious partner: from Holy Communion to Ricky's Strip Club. "Turning heartbreak and tragedy on its ass with heartfelt humor and wit, Dating Depression and Dirtbags: A Love Story is a painfully real and laugh out loud funny take on the NYC dating scene," state press notes. "Only the names have been changed to protect the guilty!"
Zagreda's previous solo shows include Corn Bread and Feta Cheese: Growing Up Fat and Albanian and Divorce Albanian Style!, which have been performed in New York, L.A., Detroit and Boston. In "Odd Mom Out" she plays Monoma, the Russian housekeeper with attitude. Onstage she was featured in Letters from Kosovo as well as in the plays The Vagina Monologues and Trojan Women.
Tickets cost $20 in advance and $22 at the door. To order visit Smarttix.com or call (212) 868-4444. For more information, visit Elzazagreda.com.
