War, the newest work by award-winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, officially opens June 6 at Lincoln Center Theater. The LCT3 production, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, began performances May 21 starring Chris Myers and Rachel Nicks.
The cast also includes Austin Durant, Reggie Gowland, Michele Shay, Lance Coadie Williams and Charlayne Woodard.
According to production notes, War sees “tensions escalate between Tate (Myers) and Joanne (Nicks) after their mother has a stroke. As they attack each other in their mother’s hospital room, they are ambushed by two strangers who make a shocking claim about their grandfather during WWII.”
The engagement is scheduled to run through July 3 at the Claire Tow Theater.
War features sets by Mimi Lien, costumes by Montana Blanco, lighting by Matt Frey and sound by Bray Poor.
