Directed by Matt Shakman, the production will officially open Feb. 27. Performances will continue through March 28. The cast is headed by Emily Bergl, most recently onstage in the New York premiere of Becky Shaw at Second Stage; and Peter Smith, whose theatre credits include Broadway's The Invention of Love and Off-Broadway's Modern Orthodox. They are joined onstage by Dahlia veterans Morlan Higgins and Lee Garlington, alongside newcomer Kendall Toole.
"Jill has accepted Ben's proposal," according to press notes. "But can he accept her secret? A newly engaged couple confronts the bride-to-be's deeply buried family history as past, present, and future collide in this artful, funny, and ultimately moving exploration of the depth — and limits — of forgiveness."
Schulner's An Infinite Ache was part of the Dahlia's 2004 Polly Warfield Award-winning season.
The design team includes Kurt Boetcher (set), Heather Graff and Rich Peterson (lights), Joel Spence (sound) and E.B. Brooks (costumes).
Tickets may be purchased online at www.thedahlia.com or by calling (800) 838-3006. The Dahlia is located at 5453 West Pico Boulevard (at Hauser, between Fairfax and La Brea), in Los Angeles.
