Tony and Academy Award-winning director Mike Nichols (Death of a Salesman) will helm the time-bending play that is aiming for an October opening at the Barrymore Theatre. A 14-week engagement is expected.
An official announcement of the production has not been made.
Real-life couple Weisz and Craig will portray on-stage married couple Emma and Robert, respectively. Spall will portray Jerry, Robert's best friend with whom Emma has an affair.
Craig ("Skyfall," "GoldenEye," "Casino Royale," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") last appeared on Broadway in A Steady Rain. Betrayal would mark Weisz's Broadway debut. Her films include "Oz the Great and Powerful," "The Bourne Legacy," "The Constant Gardener" and "The Shape of Things." Spall recently appeared in "Prometheus" and "Life of Pi."
Pinter's 1978 drama travels in reverse dramatic order as it explores a hidden love affair. It premiered on Broadway in 1979 with Blythe Danner, Raul Julia and Roy Scheider. A 2000 revival featured Juliette Binoche, Liev Schreiber and John Slattery.
