Stars in the House—Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson's streaming series that has raised funds for the Entertainment Community Fund and more—will continue July 2 at 8 PM with an evening celebrating the recent Love Is Love event at The Kennedy Center.
The June 23 Kennedy Center Gay Pride concert, staged by five Democratic senators in Justice Hall, one of the smaller theatres at the D.C. venue, featured, among others, Beth Malone, Javier Muñoz, Alexis Michelle, Hennessey Winkler, Andrew Lippa, and Brandi Chavonne Massey. These artists will reunite for the upcoming Stars in the House live stream, which will be available to view on the Stars in the House YouTube channel and remain available after the conclusion of the episode.
Rudetsky and Jackson directed the Kennedy Center performance, which featured musical and theatrical performances highlighting LGBTQ themes, including the now-viral “One Gay More,” Lisa Kron’s take on Les Misérables’ stirring anthem “One Day More.” Watch that performance from the Jeffrey Seller-produced evening in the video above.

During the July 2 Stars in the House, the co-hosts and their guests will discuss what went into creating the inspiring evening, share some behind-the-scenes footage, and show videos from the concert, including Lippa’s opening song about Harvey Milk, backed by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C.; Massey and Gallagher’s “Take Me Or Leave Me” from Rent; John Cameron Mitchell’s performance of “Origin of Love” from Hedwig; and Brandon Uranowitz’s “What More Can I Say” from Falsettoland.
