Tony winners Bernadette Peters, Sutton Foster, and Leslie Odom, Jr. will take center stage at the inaugural FetchPet Gala October 20 at The Café Carlyle in New York City.
The black-tie event—benefiting Broadway Cares, Broadway Barks, Project Street Vet, and Wags & Walks—will kick off on The Green Carpet, where shelter dogs from North Shore Animal League will strut the carpet sporting bespoke dog collars created by international designers Jeffrey Banks, James Taffin de Givenchy, Josie Natori, Irene Neuwirth, and Stefania Pramma. (The collars will subsequently be available at a December auction with net proceeds going to the gala beneficiaries.)
The evening will continue in the Carlyle with dinner and performances by Tony winners Peters, Foster, and Odom, Jr. Peters, the co-founder of Broadway Barks, and Foster will serve as the evening’s masters of ceremonies. The night will conclude with the FetchPet After Party.
“Many people lack access to essential health care for their pets, and we’re committed to changing that,” stated Paul Guyardo, president and CEO of FetchPet Insurance, which is hosting the evening. “We have created a spectacular event
to raise funds for pets and their parents in need of medical and support
services, thanks to the immense generosity of the evening’s
entertainers, designers, and partners.”
“The
heart of Broadway Cares is ensuring generosity translates into real
impact in communities—whether that’s lifesaving medication, a hot meal, or making sure someone can keep and care for their beloved pet,” added Danny Whitman,
executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. “As a proud
cat dad to Cricket and Sassy Pants, I know firsthand the love animals
bring into our lives and too often, that is overlooked. With FetchPet,
we’re shining a light on the vital role pets play in people’s lives and
ensuring that no one has to face hardship without their animal companion
by their side.”
The partnership between FetchPet and Broadway Cares was initiated by The Erlick Group.
