The Lion will play the Portland Center Stage in Oregon May 2-June 14, with the national tour officially launching Aug. 22, at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell, MA. It will play the Milwaukee Repertory Theater in Wisconsin Sept. 22-Nov. 8; the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY Nov. 11-22; Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. Feb. 26, 2016-April 3; and City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, PA May 14-June 5.
"I am thrilled to be able to bring Benjamin's heartfelt story to cities across the country and for a national audience to hear and experience his exceptional talent as a musical storyteller," producer Eva Price said in a statement.
The Lion opened Feb. 8 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater following previews that began Feb. 3. Sean Daniels, who helmed the MTC production, directs.
Following its run at City Center, The Lion played the St. James Theatre in London.

Scheuer is a 2013 ASCAP Cole Porter Songwriting Award winner. His work has been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2013 Musical Theatre Network Award for Best Lyrics); The St. James Theatre, London; The Jermyn Street Theatre, London; and Lincoln Center. He leads the band Escapist Papers.
