BEDLAM's production of J.T. Harding's Music City will transfer to a new venue in the theatre district following its 2024 Off-Broadway run, which extended three times due to popular demand. Located at 512 West 42nd Street, the venue will be transformed into "The Wicked Tickle," a Nashville honky-tonk bar, with performances beginning March 23 ahead of an April 8 opening night.
With original and existing songs by multi-platinum songwriter J.T. Harding (who has written for country stars like Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and more) Music City follows two young singer-songwriters into an East Nashville bar that serves up cheap beer, open mics, and dreams of big breaks. The bar regulars pursue love and music in the face of addiction, poverty, and haunting pasts. The work features a book by playwright Peter Zinn (Rumspringa, Somewhere With You) and direction by BEDLAM Artistic Director Eric Tucker.
Casting will be revealed at a later date.
Music City is produced by Gabrielle Palitz, with No Guarantees Productions and BEDLAM. General management is by Tom Smedes Productions.
