The new musical features music and lyrics by Caleb Damschroder and a book by Eric Ulloa.

The upcoming reading will feature Becca Ayers (Dogfight, Addams Family) in the lead role of Molly. 

With Our Eyes Closed, according to press notes, "tells the story of Molly Sweeney, whom blind since infancy, undergoes a surgery to regain her sight. Under the advice of her husband Frank and Dr. Rice, a once renowned eye surgeon, she releases the rich textured world she’s always known for an uncertain future."

Brian Friel’s Molly Sweeney received its American premiere in 1996 in an Off-Broadway production at the Roundabout Theatre. Catherine Byrne starred as Molly, with Alfred Molina as her husband Frank and Jason Robards as Mr. Rice. It won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play of the 1996 season.
