LOS ANGELES -- Distracted by the Landscape, by Kevin Barry will have its world premiere at Moving Arts, April 3. The black comedy about "lust and longing" will run through May 17, directed by Mark Kinsey Stephenson.

"Barry's play tells of Connie, a bored housewife from middle America who travels to New York as a presidential convention delegate and encounters a Latino gigolo named Dorado," said a company spokesperson. "Upon returning to her humdrum life and dull marriage, she dreams of Dorado, only to discover that he has followed her home to see how the 'other half' lives."

The cast includes Julie Briggs, Frankie Cohen, Therese McLaughlin, Mark Pfau, Richard Ruyle and Van Stewman, Jr. Original music is by Roland A. Vega.

Performances are Fri.-Sat. at 8 PM and Sun. at 2 PM at Moving Arts, 1822 Hyperion Ave. (No performances May 8-10.) For tickets, $14, call (213) 665-8961, or check out their website at www.priment.com/~movnarts.
