News August: Osage County Tony Winner Will Open Old Wounds in Marvin's Room Chicago's Shattered Globe Theatre will open its 25th season with a 25th anniversary production of Scott McPherson's Marvin's Room, which will be presented Oct. 1-Nov. 14 at Theater Wit.

August: Osage County Tony winner Deanna Dunagan will play Ruth in the dark comedy, which will be directed by producing artistic director Sandy Shinner, with an official opening scheduled for Oct. 4 at 3 PM.

The cast also includes ensemble members Rebecca Jordan (Lee), Linda Reiter (Bessie) and Drew Schad (Bob), SGT Protégé Program graduate Nate Santana (Hank) with Kyle Klein II (Charlie), Deanna Reed-Foster (Dr. Charlotte/Retirement Home Director) and Don Tieri (Dr. Wally).

Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award for New Play, Marvin's Room is described thus: "Bessie devotes her life to caring for her elderly father and aunt and so her own diagnosis of leukemia plummets their world into a tailspin. In need of a bone marrow transplant, Bessie reaches out to her estranged sister Lee and her two nephews. If they are to be of any help, then old wounds must be opened."

The production team includes Nick Mozak (scenic designer), Sarah Jo White (costume designer), Shelley Strasser Holland (lighting designer), Chris Kriz (sound designer), Vivian Knouse (props designer), Dunagan (associate director), Kelly Claussen (production manager) and Razor Wintercastle and Tina Jach (stage managers).
