Industry News Applications Are Open for The Shubert Organization's 2025 Artistic Circle

The program provides three mid-career BIPOC producers with financial assitance, networking events, and more.

The Shubert Organization has announced that applications are now open through November 15 for its 2025 Artistic Circle. The initiative is intended to bring more Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) producers into the commercial American theatre landscape.

Three selected mid-career BIPOC producers will receive financial assistance for a project, space for readings and workshops for the project's development, consultation sessions with Martian Entertainment producer and general manager Carl D. White, roundtables and networking events with established producers and industry experts, seminars with Shubert Organization staff, and opportunities for theatre tickets and industry events, subject to availability.

In order to be considered for the Artistic Circle, applicants must have previous experience as a producer, co-producer, associate producer, assistant to a producer, or assistant to a general manager on a Broadway or Off-Broadway show. They must also have a show geared toward the commercial arena (Broadway or Off-Broadway) currently in development, and include a detailed development plan and timeline in their application.

Interested producers should submit a resumé including relevant professional experience, a statement detailing their personal philosophy and goals, a description of their project, and a letter of recommendation from a theatre professional to [email protected].

Recipients will be announced in early January 2025.
