O'Malley, according to a spokesperson for the New Jersey venue, will play the role of Betsy. She joins the previously announced 2013 Tony nominee Rob McClure and stage and screen star Tony Danza.
As previously reported by Playbill.com, Honeymoon in Vegas, featuring music and lyrics by Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years, Songs for a New World) and a book by Andrew Bergman, who wrote and directed the film, will run Sept. 26-Oct. 27 at Paper Mill.
Paper Mill has not announced creative duties, but an earlier Equity casting notice states that Gary Griffin (The Color Purple) will direct the new musical based on the 1992 film comedy film. The musical will have choreography by Denis Jones and musical direction by Tom Murray.
Here's how Paper Mill bills the new musical: "This insanely funny musical tells the tale of Jack Singer (Rob McClure), a guy with an extraordinary fear of marriage, who finally overcomes his phobia and goes to Las Vegas to wed his long-time girlfriend Betsy (Brynn O'Malley). Enter Tommy Korman (Tony Danza), a widowed and unscrupulous gambler looking for another shot at love. Tommy spots Betsy, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his late wife, and the game is afoot."
Subscriptions are now available at Papermill.org. Single tickets will go on sale in June.
