For one night only March 16, composer Angela Rice’s Thy Will Be Done—composed, conducted, and performed by Kentuckians—will be performed at Lincoln Center’s Geffen Hall, marking its New York City debut.

The 90-minute oratorio, which chronicles the life, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, will be performed by the National Chorale, under the direction of Everett McCorvey, with mezzo soprano Catherine Martin, bass Kevin Thompson, and tenors Gregory Turay (who originated the role of Jesus Christ when the piece first premiered) and Anthony Clark Evans, both winners of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grants. This will mark Turay's triumphant return to New York, as well as the 50th anniversary of the National Chorale.

Thy Will Be Done first debuted in 2012. Rice studied at the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory after graduating the University of Louisville in Kentucky. “I’ve tried to use the music to dept emotions of the characters in the specific biblical contexts,” said Rice in a statement. “I hope that as you listen you can hear the love, surrender, obedience, despair, humility, and awe—emotions that the character experienced.”
