At the age of 90, Angela Lansbury has earned her spot as a theatrical luminary. With such iconic roles as Auntie Mame, Mama Rose and Mrs. Lovett, among many others, Lansbury will reflect on her long career in an upcoming BBC Radio 2 documentary airing August 30 at 10 PM.

British peer, actress Emma Thompson, will host as we get a glimpse of Lansbury’s start as a teenaged actress to the woman who has no plans to retire.

“I still have the freshness of excitement about it all today as I did playing Nancy in Gaslight 72 years ago,” she said.

The five-time Tony winner last appeared on Broadway as Mrs. Sue-Ellen Gamadge in Gore Vidal’s The Best Man in 2012.

As previously reported, Lansbury will join voice actor Paige O’Hara (Beauty and the Beast) at an anniversary screening of the Disney film September 18 in New York City, along with the voices of Gaston and the Beast, Richard White and Robby Benson. (The live-action remake of the Disney-animated classic stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Kevin Kline and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.)

Earlier this summer, Lansbury confirmed that she will return to Broadway in Enid Bagnold’s The Chalk Garden during the 2017-18 season.
