Industry News Amy Spanger and Hunter Ryan Herdlicka Up Next at July 19 NYC Villain: DeBlanks Green Room 42 hosts the Wednesday night murder mystery series with a rotating cast.

Broadway’s Amy Spanger, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, and Peter Filichia are among guests planned for the July 19 edition of the audience-participation murder-mystery show Villain: DeBlanks, running each Wednesday at The Green Room 42 nightspot in Manhattan.

Spanger (The Wedding Singer, Matilda), Herdlicka (A Little Night Music, Once Upon A Mattress), and Filichia (Let's Put on a Musical!, Adam's Gifts), will be joined by Geneva Carr (Hand to God), comedian Allison Castillo, and attorney Eric Lesh.

Described by creator Billy Mitchell as “Clue meets adult Mad Libs,” Villain: DeBlanks asks the audience to provides nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. to tell the story of Philip DeBlanks’ untimely demise. The performers act out the resulting script.

The series has a rotating cast that changes weekly.

Guests for the July 26 show include Tony Award winner Randy Graff (City of Angels, Broadway's original Fantine in Les Misérables), and actors Nick Cearley and Maddie Cornman.

The summertime series was organized by Tony-nominated dancer-singer-choreographer Brenda Braxton, who told Playbill that a portion of the proceeds will go to Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. Besides which, she said, “The show is great fun for a good cause!”

Braxton was a special guest performer on Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruise to the Italian Riviera.
