Tony nominee Amber Ruffin (Some Like It Hot, The Wiz) will once again host the Dramatists Guild Foundation's annual gala, set for October 28 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan.
The forthcoming evening will honor Tony-winning composer, orchestrator, and arranger Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then, Almost Famous, Flying Over Sunset, High Fidelity, Bring It On) and Mindy Rich (chairman at Rich Holdings Inc., executive chair at Rich Entertainment Group, and producing partner at Grove Entertainment) for their "creative contributions, educational mentorship, and continued dedication" to the American theatre.
Kitt will be celebrated with this year’s dramatist honor, while Rich will be recognized for her dedication to fostering and expanding the stories seen on stages for more than a decade.
The evening will begin at 6 PM with cocktails followed by dinner and entertainment at 7 PM. Performers will be announced at a later date.
The Dramatists Guild Foundation supports playwrights,
composers, lyricists, and librettists for the American theatre through
financial resources, education-driven programming, and free rehearsal
spaces throughout their careers.
Tables, individual tickets, and
sponsorship opportunities are available by visiting DGF.org/Gala or calling (212) 391-8384.
