Jez Butterworth's The Ferryman earned three awards—the most of any production of the season—at the 63rd London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, held December 3 at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The production, which recently announced a third West End extension, picked up prizes for Best Play, Best Director (Sam Mendes), and Best Emerging Talent (Tom Glynn-Carney).

Andrew Garfield was recognized for his performance as Prior Walter in Angels in America, a role he will reprise on Broadway when the Tony Kushner drama, which co-stars Nathan Lane, arrives at the Neil Simon Theatre in February 2018.
Amber Riley received the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical Performance for her critically acclaimed work as Effie White in the London production of Dreamgirls; the Glee star earned an Olivier Award earlier this year for her performance. Additionally, Glenda Jackson, who will return to Broadway later this season in Edward Albee's Three Tall Women, received the Best Actress prize for her performance in the title role of King Lear.
Co-hosts for the evening included Evening Standard owner Evgeny Lebedev, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anna Wintour, and Cate Blanchett.
