Alum from Multiple "Star Trek" TV Series Will Be Part of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds | Playbill

News Alum from Multiple "Star Trek" TV Series Will Be Part of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds Series regulars from all five of the "Star Trek" television series will reunite for a one-night-only performance of Orson Welles' iconic 1938 radio drama, War of the Worlds, Jan. 17, 2015, at 8 PM at the ACME Theater in Hollywood.

Wil Wheaton will head the cast as Orson Welles alongside fellow "Star Trek" alumni Walter Koenig, Michael Dorn, René Auberjonois, Armin Shimerman, Tim Russ and Linda Park. The evening will also feature Dean Haglund with a special pre-recorded cameo appearance by comic book legend Stan Lee.

Produced by Sci-Fest LA and directed by Jim Fall, the reading is a fundraiser for Sci-Fest LA: The Los Angeles Science Fiction One-Act Play Festival.

The idea for the fundraiser came from Sci-Fest LA co-producer, actor David Dean Bottrell, who said in a statement, "Even after 76 years, the original script for War of the Worlds is still chilling and beautifully written. We are tremendously honored to have such an extraordinary company of actors performing it live on stage. And as a lifelong ‘Star Trek’ fan, I’m speechless. This is going to be an amazing night for Sci-Fi fans!"

Following the performance, audience members can attend a post-show party and bid on seven exclusive War of the Worlds posters designed specifically for this event.
