Almeida’s Mary Stuart Will Transfer to West End With Juliet Stevenson and Lia Williams
The two actors alternate in the historic roles of Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart in Schiller’s classic.
The Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of Friederich Schiller’s Mary Stuart, which stars Juliet Stevenson and Lia Williams, will transfer to London’s West End for a limited run beginning January 13, 2018.
Directed by Robert Icke, who also wrote the new adaptation, the actors’ roles are determined by an onstage coin toss just prior to each performance. Mary Stuart officially opens January 25 for a run through March 31.
The political drama delves into the unseen power-play of Britain history’s most crucial days.
