Labor attorney and former eastern executive director of the Directors Guild of America, Alan Gordon, has been selected as the new executive director of the American Guild of Musical Artists. An AFL-CIOaffiliate, AGMA is a performing arts union representing opera and concert artists, ballet dancers and staging personnel across the country.
Gordon's president, AGMA's Linda Mays, indicated that his immediate tasks would be to implement a program of aggressive enforcement of AGMA contacts, improve the overall collective bargaining process and to streamline AGMA's internal administrative operations.
