Courtney Reed, currently playing Satine on Moulin Rouge!'s national tour, topped off her 2022 with an engagement to photographer Nick Pflederer. The actor took to Instagram to share the news.
Pflederer and Reed originally dated while in college, but went their separate ways. Reed told People that the two reconnected during the pandemic 14 years later when Reed moved back home to Chicago and met up to catch up as friends—and discovered the chemistry hadn't disappeared.
The two began dating again in August 2020, and as Reed took to the road as Satine, Pflederer joined her. In an Instagram video, Reed shared her "Happiest Moments" of 2022 which ended with Pflederer's proposal on the top of the Seattle Space Needle. Reed and Pflederer were surrounded by some of Reed's castmates as Moulin Rouge! played an engagement at Seattle's Paramount Theatre December 14, 2022-January 1, 2023.
Reed debuted on Broadway in Mamma Mia! and starred in In the Heights. In 2014, she originated the role of Jasmine in Aladdin on Broadway.
