Tony Awards 70th Annual Tony Award Nominations to Be Announced May 3 The nominations will be streamed live.

The Tony Awards nominating committee meets the evening of May 2 to make nominations for the 70th annual awards that recognize the best of Broadway. Their choices will be announced by Tony winner Nikki M. James and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (both of Book of Mormon) May 3 at 8:30 AM ET.

The announcement will take place at the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel in midtown Manhattan. James and Rannells will reveal the recipients of nominations in each of the 24 competitive categories. 

Playbill.com will carry a live feed of the nominations on this website starting shortly before 8:30 AM. The feed will be hosted on TonyAwards.com as well. Playbill.com will post the complete list of nominations as soon as they are available.

The 70th Annual Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast live on CBS June 12 from the Beacon Theatre beginning at 8 PM ET.

Tickets to the Tony Awards ceremony will not be sold to the general public this year.

Several special awards and lifetime achievement awards have already been given:

Special Tony Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre: Sheldon Harnick and Marshall W. Mason.

Special Tony Awards: The National Endowment for the Arts and Miles Wilkin.

Regional Theatre Tony Award: Paper Mill Playhouse, Milburn, NJ.

Tony Honors for Excellence: Sally Ann Parsons, Joan Lader and Seth Gelblum.
