The forthcoming season will launch August 15 with the original musical comedy Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw. The new musical, which concerns brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, who create the world's first musical, will continue through September 10 at the Orpheum.
Something Rotten! will be followed by An American in Paris (September 12–October 8 at the Orpheum), Disney's Aladdin (November 1, 2017–January 7, 2018, at the Orpheum), The Color Purple (May 1–27 at the Orpheum), Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock (June 27–July 22 at the Orpheum), and On Your Feet! (September 11–October 7 at the Golden Gate).
The season will conclude with the new musical Waitress, which features a score by Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles and will be presented October 16–November 11 at the Golden Gate.
A special return engagement of the Tony-winning The Book of Mormon is also available; members get first access to the production, which will play February 6–March 4, 2018, at the Orpheum.
