Atlantic Theater Company celebrates the official opening of the world premiere of Blue Ridge by Abby Rosebrock (Dido of Idaho) January 7. Set in Southern Appalachia, Tony nominee Marin Ireland stars as a high school teacher who, after lashing out at her unethical boss, is sentenced to a church-sponsored halfway house.
Blue Ridge is directed by Taibi Magar (The Great Leap) in Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater. Performances began December 12, 2018, and are scheduled through January 26.
The cast also features Kristolyn Lloyd (Paradise Blue, Dear Evan Hansen), Kyle Beltran (Fire in Dreamland, The Amateurs), Peter Mark Kendall (Chicago Med), Nicole Lewis (Bedlam's Sense and Sensibility), and Chris Stack (Ugly Lies the Bone).
Blue Ridge features scenic design by Adam Rigg, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman, and casting by Telsey + Company: Adam Caldwell, CSA; Will Cantler, CSA; Karyn Casl, CSA.
Blue Ridge was developed at Williamstown Theatre Festival as part of the Boris Sagal Directing Fellowship/Drama League Residency.
