Mary Poppins Returns released a first look during the 2018 Oscars March 4. Take a look at the teaser trailer above.
Hamilton Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Lin-Manuel Miranda takes on the new role of Jack the lamplighter in the Rob Marshall-helmed movie musical, which stars Emily Blunt as title whimsical nanny. In the first look, Miranda conjures Blunt's Mary Poppins via, appropriately, flying a kite.
The movie picks up 25 years after the original film as Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) and his three children mourn the sudden loss of his wife. In a quest to bring light back into their lives, Mary returns to Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane to take the family through a fantasy-filled trip around London and beyond.
The all-star cast also features Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, and an appearance from original Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke.
Mary Poppins Returns, with a score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Smash) arrives in theatres Christmas Day.
