Tyler Hanes, Jill Paice, Gabrielle Ruiz, and Colton Ryan are among stage veterans lined up for the LEXington Theatre Company’s fourth annual Concert With the Stars, which pairs “today’s Broadway stars and tomorrow’s Broadway hopefuls,” mostly chosen from college theatre programs.
The cabaret-style concert of Broadway show tunes, interwoven with backstage stories from the guest stars, will be held 8 PM January 6 at The Lexington Opera House in Lexington, Kentucky.
The New York veterans include Hanes (Cats, On the Town, A Chorus Line), Paice (An American in Paris, Matilda, The Woman in White), Ruiz (If/Then, In the Heights, TV’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and Lexington native Ryan (who understudies both Evan Hansen and Connor Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen). Ryan appeared as one of the “hopefuls” in a previous installment of this concert.
This year’s hopefuls include Jessica Bayne (University of Kentucky), Megan Valle (Wright State University), Kurtis Bradley Brown and Bryn Purvis (both of University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music), and local actors Darian Sanders and Joseph Wrightson.
The LEX also plans to use the concert to announce the two shows on its 2018 summer season.
