Theatre Aspen is now accepting submissions for its inaugural festival of solo shows, Solo Flights. The week-long festival will take place in September following the 2019 summer season in Aspen, Colorado.
Solo Flights will consist of one-person shows at various stages of development, from works-in-process to fully-staged productions. The festival will also include a range of additional programming, including talkbacks and special guest interview panels.
The inaugural Solo Flights is set to begin the week of September 16, 2019, and will be presented at multiple venues in downtown Aspen, including Theatre Aspen’s Hurst Theatre.
“As we continue to expand the Theatre Aspen footprint, Solo Flights will create a much-needed home for this important art form and a national platform for this type of work to be nurtured, presented, and talked about,” says Producing Director Jed Bernstein. “We look forward to welcoming the theatre community at large to beautiful downtown Aspen for our very first festival next fall.”
