The 1980s jukebox musical Rock of Ages will head out on the road this fall in an all-new touring production commemorating its 10th anniversary.

A scrappy blend of 1980s nostalgia and legit rock musicianship, Rock of Ages opened Off-Broadway at New World Stages in the fall of 2008 before transferring to Broadway the following spring, picking up five 2009 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.

Theatre and rock fans flocked to the production that starred American Idol finalist Constantine Maroulis as an aspiring rocker trying to hit it big on the Sunset Strip.

The upcoming non-equity tour of Rock of Ages will be directed by Martha Banta and choreographed by Janet Rothermel. Arrangements and orchestrations are by Ethan Popp. Casting and a touring schedule will be announced at a later date. The 10th anniversary tour is produced by Fifth Estate Entertainment.

The production incorporates a parade of ’80s hits, including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Here I Go Again,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The show’s book is by Chris D’Arienzo.

Rock of Ages ran for 2,328 performances on Broadway before closing in January 2015. A screen adaptation was released in 2012.
