Ngozi Anyanwu's play Good Grief opened at The Vineyard Theatre Off-Broadway October 30 following a Los Angeles debut in 2017. Returning to the central role of Nkechi is Anyanwu herself; inspired by the playwright's life, the play tells the story of a Nigerian-American girl navigating love, friendship, and loss in her home in Pennsylvania’s suburbs.
Good Grief began performances October 11 and is directed by Awoye Timpo (The Homecoming Queen). Completing the cast are Oberon K.A. Adjepong, Nnamdi Asomugha, Patrice Johnson Chevannes, Hunter Parrish, Ian Quinlan, and Lisa Ramirez.
