Cabaret & Concert News Rachel Bloom Warms Up for Lincoln Center’s American Songbook Concert The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator will perform with Adam Schlesinger in NYC’s Appel Room February 10.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator Rachel Bloom will join series collaborator Adam Schlesinger for a February 10 cabaret show in New York City as part of Lincoln Center’s 2018 American Songbook series.

Bloom, who studied drama at NYU and performed with the improv troupe Upright Citizen’s Brigade, won a Golden Globe in 2016 for her leading performance in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which features Broadway-style musical segments in each episode. Last year, she appeared in Manhattan Concert Productions' staging of the Broadway-bound Crazy For You.

Schlesinger earned a Tony Award nomination for his music and lyrics to the musical Cry-Baby. He also supplied music for the Broadway comedy show An Act of God.

Entering its 19th season, the American Songbook series celebrates the achievements of American songwriters. The series gives artists an opportunity to explore an entire catalog of work for a deep dive into their influences and creative identity.

Coming up in the series: Passing Strange collaborators Stew and Heidi Rodewald (February 7), Catch Me If You Can star Aaron Tveit (February 9), Justin Vivian Bond in an evening dedicated to Karen Carpenter (February 15), and Tony-nominated War Paint, Grey Gardens, and Far From Heaven songwriters Scott Frankel and Michael Korie with Tony winner Kelli O'Hara and Julian Ovenden (February 17).
