News Paul Rudd to Lead Reading of New Neil LaBute Play The actor is set to star in a benefit performance of Reasons to Be Pretty Happy at MCC.

MCC Theater has announced that its benefit reading of Neil LaBute’s Reasons to be Pretty Happy September 11 will be led by stage and screen star Paul Rudd.

The one-night-only developmental reading will take place at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with proceeds going to the organization’s education and playwriting programs. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Reasons to be Pretty Happy is the third play in LaBute's Reasons trilogy, which includes Reasons to be Pretty, which transferred to Broadway, and Reasons to be Happy.

Rudd, who is a frequent LaBute collaborator, worked with the playwright on The Shape of Things as well as Bash.

Tickets range from $100 for show-only tickets to $250/$350 for preferred/premium seating plus access to a special post-show reception with LaBute, the cast and MCC leadership. For tickets visit mcctheater.org or call (212) 352-3101.
