An EP of six songs from the musical Band Geeks, which had its world premiere at Goodspeed Musicals in 2010, has been released on the Yellow Sound Label. Featuring a score by Gaby Alter (Nobody Loves You), Tommy Newman (The Yellow Brick Road), and Mark Allen (Getting The Band Back Together), the show about a high school marching band has a book by Newman and Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn).
The Band Geeks EP is available exclusively on digital platforms, including iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
Much of the original Goodspeed cast returned to record the EP for Yellow Sound Label, including Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles (Here Lies Love, The King and I), Tony winner Lindsay Mendez (Carousel, Wicked), Jared Gertner (Book of Mormon), Patti Murin (Frozen), Alex Gemignani (Carousel), Douglas Lyons (Book of Mormon), Jill Abramovitz (Beetlejuice!, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Jason Michael Snow (Book of Mormon, A Christmas Story Live!), F. Michael Haynie (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Jesus Christ Superstar: Live In Concert), Jacey Powers (Our Town), Michael Millan (Escape to Margaritaville), and Matt Braver(Mozart in the Jungle).
The musical has become a popular licensing title for Music Theatre International since its premiere.
