Industry News One Night in Bangkok Benefit Promises a Show With Everything But Yul Brynner Touring company of The King and I will perform a benefit for Broadway Cares August 14.

Members of the national touring company of The King and I will perform a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS August 14 during its stop in Washington, D.C.

Presented with La Ti Do Productions, the One Night in Bangkok evening of song and dance will include songs by Stephen Sondheim, William Finn, Sara Bareilles, Maltby & Shire, and Lady Gaga. It will be presented at Bistro Bistro DC, located at 1727 Connecticut Avenue NW. The King and I is scheduled to play the Kennedy Center through August 20.

Cast member and event organizer Michelle Liu Coughlin told Playbill, "Doing this concert is not only a wonderful opportunity for the cast to step out of their roles in The King and I for one night and share their amazing talents but it also allows us as a united family to help raise awareness for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This organization helps men, women and children across the country receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance. Our hope is that the proceeds from this benefit will help them continue to fulfill their mission long after the singing and dancing is done."

Tickets cost $25 and $40 and can be ordered at Onenightinbangkok.net.
