Roundabout Theatre Company celebrates the official opening of the world premiere of Usual Girls November 5. Ming Peiffer’s new play, part of the company's Underground programming dedicated to new works and emerging writers, paints an unfiltered and deeply personal portrait of growing up female and Asian-American.
Usual Girls is directed by Tyne Rafaeli (I Was Most Alive with You) in Roundabout’s Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The production began October 11, quickly sold-out its initial run, and has been extended through December 16.

Through the story of Kyeoung, Usual Girls looks at the kinds of experiences that shape young girls and the women they'll become—from tackling a boy on her elementary school playground, to the isolation of high school, sororities, and beyond.

The cast is completed by Sofia Black-D’Elia (The Mick), Abby Corrigan (national tour of Fun Home), Ali Rose Dachis (The Wanderers at The Old Globe), Karl Kenzler (Fiddler on the Roof, You Can't Take it With You), Jennifer Lim (Chinglish, Caught), Ryann Redmond (Escape to Margaritaville, Gigantic), Nicole Rodenburg (The Antipodes, The Flick), and Raviv Ullman (Sticks & Bones, Russian Transport).
